Outage Information
Nov 13th, 2022 Due to an avalanche in a remote area west of Uken, long-distance telephone service for all ARTC customers has been interrupted.
As a result, ARTC subscribers will be unable to dial outside to numbers in the rest of Alaska, or to Canada, the United States, or international destinations. Outside (non-ARTC) callers will also be unable to reach ARTC numbers during this outage. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
Internet service is provided by a separate cable, and will remain operational. Local calling also remains operational.
Nov 14th, 2022 Update: Company technicians were able to temporarily reactivate a previously defunct trunk line connecting the Darton and Alkyon regions. Long-distance calling will now be possible between the 329 and 536 area codes. We are working rapidly to restore global long-distance service.
